T-Mac Attack

Before everyone game I try to watch this clip of T-mac doing the unthinkable by going for 13 points in 33 seconds. Watching this gets me pumped and in the mind frame that nobody can stop me. I remeber watching this game live and I couldn't believe what I had saw. This video is simply amazing!

Weekend Surprise

I went home this weekend and when I arrived I was told that there was a surprise for me waiting in my room. When I walked in I had been so shocked to see a flat in my room. I couldn't stop jumping around because I was so ecstatic. My mother told me it was an early birthday gift considering since my birthday is on Monday. Seeing the flat screen almost brought a tear to my eye because I've been asking for one for some time now and I didn't think she was going to get it for me, which is why I was so taking back. I literally stood at my new flat screen t.v. for 10 minutes straight in amazement. What really got me was that it was hooked up and everything. I was so happy I kept my t.v. on all night. This will probably go down as one of my favorite birthday gifts ever.

Jordan vs Kobe

The other day a friend of mine and I had an argument about who's going to go down in history as the greatest player. I said His Airness, Michael Jordan and he had the audacity to say Kobe Bean Bryant. When he said that, I was beside myself. I couldn't believe he actually said. Magic, ok, I can understand that. Larry Bird, I can understand that too. Any of the greats would've been acceptable, but he said Kobe Bryant. He even tried to make a big argument about something that doesn't even deserve a comment. I was so outraged by this that I had to write this blog. Therefore, what I did was take the liberty of comparing Michael Jordan's accomplishments to Kobe's accomplishments:

Michael Jordan:
Five-time NBA Most Valuable Player (1987-88, 1990-91, 1991-92, 1995-96, 1997-98)
Ten-time All-NBA First Team selection (1986-87 to 1992-93, 1995-96 to 1997-98)
Selected in 1996 as one of the "50 Greatest Players in NBA History"
A member of six Chicago Bulls NBA championship teams (1990-91, 1991-92, 1992-93, 1995-96, 1996-97 and 1997-98)
Six-time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player
The 1987-88 NBA Defensive Player of the Year and record nine-time NBA All-Defensive First Team selection (1987-88 to 1992-93, 1995-96 to 1997-98)
Entering 2002-03, ranked first in NBA history in scoring average (31.0 ppg), second in steals (2,391), fourth in points (30,652) and in field-goals made (11,513), fifth in free-throws made (7,061), sixth in field-goals attempted (23,010) and eighth in free-throws attempted (8,448)
Closed the 1997-98 season as the Bulls' all-time franchise leader in points, rebounds (5,836), assists (5,012), steals, games (930), field-goals made and attempted and free-throws made and attempted (8,115)
Holds the NBA record for most seasons leading the league in scoring (10)
Shares the NBA record with Wilt Chamberlain for most consecutive seasons leading the league in scoring (seven, 1986-87 to 1992-93)
Holds the NBA record for most consecutive games scoring in double-digits (842)
Holds the NBA record for most seasons leading the league in field-goals made (10) and attempted (10)
Led the NBA in steals in 1987-88 (3.16 spg), 1989-90 (2.77 spg) and 1992-93 (2.83 spg)
Holds the NBA single-game records for most free-throws made in one half (20 against the Miami Heat on 12/30/92) and most most free-throws attempted in one half (23 in the same game) . These are just some to name a few. Now let's take a look at Kobe.

Kobe Bryant:

3 Time NBA Champion with the Los Angeles Lakers (2000, 2001, 2002)

The Road to the Playoffs

As expected, our team did what we had to do and got the win. The game started off slow with both teams having a combined score of 15 after the first 15 minutes. Luckily for us, things picked up. Our offense started coming along and we continued to play our tenacious defense that held them to 15 points after the first half. With a couple minutes to go in the second and final half, we had a fast break opportunity and I wasn't going to let this chance pass by. Prior to the game my team and I were discussing about situations that may occur in the game. We all agreed if we had a fast break and I was ahead, whoever had the ball would throw and alley-oop to me for the slam. That is exactly what and the crowd strated screaming in excitement. After the game we all shook hands and now we're looking forward to playing our next opponent in the playoffs.

The Good ol' Winter Season

The temperature gets colder while everyone's trying to get warmer
All bundled up rubbing your hands together
Feeling sorry for the poor and the homeless on the corner
Hoping the next day for a change in weather
Seeing children play in the snow all day
Shoveling your steps and your sidewalk out of courtesy
Turning up the heat at the end of the hallway
Cold breeze cutting through your skin like surgery
Winter season means Christmas is knocking
People putting up their lights and decorations
Filling up candy and toys in the Christmas stockings
Exhausted kids come inside; lots of ventilation
Christmas day arrives; everyone's excited
Old folks drinking with no worries like who cares
December 31st everyone's delighted
Jan 1st Happy New Year!

Sean Taylor

Sean Taylor was a magnificent safety for the redskins, I always enjoyed watching some of his games and highlights. It sucks to see someone so young and so much talent to lose his life in the comfort of his own home. Its getting at the time period in the world that people are doing anything to get money for themselves. There were four suspects who where charged for the murder of Sean, but they claimed that they did not think he was going to be home. What they said while confessing should not change what the jourey's think. The simple fact is that they murdered a very important person but did not actually want to kill him. They claimed to be startled to find him in the house so they panicked and shot a seemly harmless shot in his leg. They did not expect the bullet to kill Sean Taylor but sadly it did just that. Sean Taylor has some of the greatest achievements and could of continued to be one of the greatest at his positions. It just goes to show you that no matter how much you have cherish it and be grateful. Be grateful for everything you have because you do not know when you are going to loose it all. I just would like to say Rest In Peace Sean Michael Maurice Taylor and I wish my sorrows upon your family.

Hostages

Its crazy what people would go through just to get some of there own needs in everyday life. A man decided he wanted to try and put Innocent peoples lives in danger just to speak to Hillary Clinton about health issues. Its makes me sick to see people have to risk there lives to try and find some happiness in their future. The man was said to be mentally in stable so that was his reason for wanting to talk to Mrs. Clinton about health services. If the criminal was really suffering mental issues it he should not be trialed as a normal person, the judge and jury should have some type of decency to see what the guy was going through. He obviously wanted to better from the next candidate to take office, but the measures he took were a little to extreme. He could of put a lot of peoples lives in danger thank good that no one got hurt in the process of that crisis.

Turkey Day

What a Thanksgiving I had, almost to much food for my stomach to try and handle. The whole day i told myself that i was not going to eat until i wanted to go all out with everything. So it was about that time that i was going to dig into the food, it was 3 pm and i was starving so it was time to dig in. My first plate was kind of light i had a little turkey some duck a little bit of stuffing some salad, and finally some macaroni and cheese. My plate was looking like heaven to me it took me no longer then 10 minutes to finish the whole thing. All the family was there so i was blessed to share my time away from college with them. As we said our grace for our food, I had my second plate in front of me. As the candle went around the table each of us had to said what we were thankful for. And all i said was that I was thankful for being able to share this time with my family and I'm also thankful for this wonderful food. So i finally finished all my food, and I was to stuff to do much of anything. But the family decided to play a game of charades and i had to join. My team ended up getting defeated but it was real fun so i really enjoyed my Thanksgiving with my family.

SHOOT OUT

The biggest game of the basketball season is coming up on Tuesday. My team is 3 and 2, and we need to beat this next team were playing to make it to the playoffs. The only problem is that the team we are playing has a 4 and 1 record and its going to be a real hard game unless we bring our A game. If we bring our A game there is no team in the league that could beat us, but the thing is that we all play for ourselves and hardly ever pass, and that's why we have that 2 game loosing record. We decided that we were all going to take it easy and try to pass a little bit more and win the next game. But we will all see how that game turns out in a later entree.

ALL OR NOTHING

The last game of the season, also the first game of the playoffs went down this weekend. It was raing cats and dogs outside but we still had a game to play. I was tired and not at all ready to play this game but I had to do what was necissary. The field was muddy and everyone was slipping all over the place, the game was a real mess. Whe were on offense and our quarter back threw an interception and the defense had returned it for a touchdown, the thing that made me mad is that he did not even care he watched the guy run it into the inzone and basically cost us the game. We finally got on offense it was the fourth quarter and we were down 6 to 0 and enough time for one more play. I ran out for a pass and my quarterback threw the ball deep to me, the ball was in the air for awhile, i had beat my defender so i thought nothing could stop me from scoring, when the ball was near me i jumped to catch it and i thought i had it. But I thought wrong the ball slipped right threw my hands and the game was over we could not go to the championship. I felt like it was all my fault but after the comfort of my team i realized that we the freshmans really put up a fight.

The Position Switch

Normally on my inturmural football team i am the starting quarter back. But since we were feeling like I would play a better reciever we decided to make the position switch. So I decided to let our second string quarter back be the first string and i would go over to wide out. When the game first started the first play anthony threw a touchdown to the other reciever Brian and our team went crazy. So our team was looking real good about the change because everything was going good. Touchdown after touchdown it was looking like a blowout for our team, and we we were going to clinch a playoff spot. The score ended up being 27 to 0, so a you can guess we decided to keep the positions the way they were. I had scored to recieving touchdown,s in that game so i was still getting my share of scoring. The football season was looking real bright and I could not wait to get to the playoffs, hopefully we are going to be the first freshman to win it all.

Over-Confidant

Being to confidant can become a real problem for some people. Me and a couple of my friends play intrumural basketball and we are pretty good so we talk alot of smack talk. We had a game on tuesday that we took lightly because we thought we were so good. When we got on the court we were joking around and talking to each other, not taking it serious. We were trying to be real fancy and throw crazy passes and take crazy shots but when we were going into the second quarter the score was way to close. So when we got back into the game we were trying to take it real serious, but it seemed like we could not regain our big lead. After the half was over we were down by ten points and we were getting real fustrated with the out turning of the game. It was becoming a struggle for us in the long run, and we were looosing by two points and we had to foul. It seemed like our chances were fading as their lead grew higher and higher, when we finally lost we were so shamed that we just walked of the court. That day I realized that being to confidant can sometimes back-fire and turn out a way that you could never expect.

On Point

Saturday me and a group of people signed up to go paint balling. Many people have never done it before but i have, and i must say im pretty good at it. On the bus ride there everyone was so anxious to start the adventure, because the adrinalin was pumping. When we got there they gave us our guns and ammuniction we were all ready to go. The first round did not go to well because we had to start in the middle of it. But the second and third round was out of control. We started playing on this really open field were there was not to much to hide around. The first round my team was getting shot back to back, and i thought i could carry them but i got shot trying to hide behind a barrel, so my team lost. The last round was the best for me, me and my teammates were beating the other team and i ended up shooting the last three people to end the game. My three day weekend went pretty well after that.

Gym Class Heros

Friday was a fun night at the queens campus. Me and a couple friends decided to drive up to the GCH concert Friday night. When we got there we had to wait on a line that seemed like it went forever. When i finally got in, the GCH did not even start till about an hour after we were in our seats. I was ready to leave because a group called the pack were performing and in my opinion i thought the were really bad, and boring. When the GCH finally came out the crowd went wild and everyone jumped out of there seats and started going crazy. The concert turned out pretty good I really enjoyed it. After the concert we all decided to go to Brooklyn and get some pizza, and the was the end of my out of control Friday.

Friday Night Lights

It was like friday night lights during our last intrumural football game. We were playing our rivals the mustang that day and whe came to win. Me being the quarterback for the warriors I had the most imortant job, and that was to make sure that we had some points on the board. We started off the game and it was a stand still 0-0 it was anybodies game in the second half. We came out strong i rushed the ball for a first down and was smacked on the floor, and out came the late hit penalty, we had a 15 yard gain. Then my reciever went deep and i found him in the zone. Score was 8-0 we were winning and it felt good. Then my saftey intercepted the ball for a touchdown, game over the warriors won.

College Life

College life has been pretty good for the most part. For the first week its been all about fun and entertaining myself. Now after a couple weeks went by I found out that the slightest obstacle can be a major set back. For a week and some days college life has been all about catching up on all my assignments do to absences because of some personal problems. I thought that it would be a stroll in college but boy was i wrong. I have seen that not committing to your work can affect how you accomplish what needs to be done. But after everything i straightened out, there are no more illness or problems, I think I'm ready to finally continue with my freshmen year of college.
